Q :   CAN  install CCTV camera in maid’s room ?

A:    NO

According to the rules of MOM, employers cannot install CCTV camera at the maid private area such as bedroom.

You can install the camera in the common area such as kitchen, living room, and even your bedroom. Employer should also inform the maid all the camera’s location, and you can even record it in writing to avoid related disputes. It is advised do not install any place where the maid's privacy could be violated. For example, the place of maid sleeping place, changes clothes, as well as bathroom or toilet etc.
